the Bulletin April 2025
NATIONAL PROPERTY AND EVIDENCE Professionals Appreciation Week T he role of the Property and Evidence Bureau is crucial to the criminal justice system and vital to our Department, as they receive, organize, and preserve the integrity of evidence,
found property, and safekeeping items. The bureau, led by Sergeant Brett Franks, consists of 10 Sheriff’s Special Officers and four Legal Property Technicians who maintain over 370,000 items among multiple locations throughout the County. The staff work diligently in the booking, safeguarding, and cautious disposition of the items in their care whether releasing property to its lawful owner, donating to local charities, or preparing applicable items for destruction. This year, during the week of March 30, we extended our appreciation to the men and women of the Records Division Property and Evidence Bureau for their commitment and support of this critical operation.
